Snowy Greetings

Thought I would post these pictures for my friends that don't have snow. I enjoyed watching black squirrels jumping among the trees this morning. Even saw a blue jay. These pictures were taken out of my kitchen window.

Christmas 09

A couple of days before Christmas Andrew hinted to me that he was almost breaking the 10th commandment because he was almost jealous of another gift that a classmate had received at school. After futher questioning he explained that it was balloons that could be made into animal shapes. Fortunately I found a kit!!

Annual Leaf Ride

Every fall Mom would take Grandma for a ride to see the leaves. One of the lasts trips that my father took before he passed away was just such a trip. Last week Mom and I continued the ritual. We went on a back road that I have never been on before. Stopped at a beautiful tree near Thompson Cemetary and took some pictures.

Family Night

The weather was perfect for raking leaves in our front yard. We finished raking by the light of the jack-o-lanterns that I carved out.

Andrew managed to get pulled a couple of times so that the leaves would not blow away!!

First Horse Ride

Today was a rather eventful day for Andrew. It started early this morning when we went to Home Depot for the monthly kids project. This month they had him build a fire station that serves as a bank. At the same time Home Depot had invited a lot of emergency personnel to show off their equipment. Besides being privileged to watch the life flight (helicopter) land, he was allowed to climb in the helicopter, sit in a police car, climb into two ambulances, and a fire truck. He was really excited! Of all times, I did not think to take my camera today, so no pictures.

After we arrived home Robert Sorrel stopped by with his horse and offered to take Andrew for a horse ride. Andrew thoroughly enjoyed his first horse ride. I did have presence of mind to take some pictures.

Vacation, Story Land

New Hampshire Vacation

Ripley Falls...100' drop...hiked .5 miles to see falls.

A stick always seemed to aid the hiking part.

Arethusa Falls is approximately 200' high located about 1.3 mile from the road. Took approximately 60 minutes one way. It was well worth the hike.

Spent an hour at the base of the falls...so refreshing!!!

80' Cloudland falls located on Falling Waters Trail...hiked 1.4 miles one way.

Taking a break along a hiking trail.

20' Stairs Falls along the Falling Waters Trail

Standing on top of the Cathedral Ledges.

Spring that Stan found on Route 2
